Southeastern Construction and Development was originally founded by David Fry in 1997 under the name Fidelity Construction. In 2006, when the company became a licensed utilities contractor in North and South Carolina, it changed its name to Southeastern Construction and Development, or “SEC”. The new name fully reflected the broad spectrum of services offered by the firm.
In 2011, after having a long and successful career in the real estate industry, Kevan Smith joined the firm as a partner. With David’s 14 years of experience as an unlimited licensed contractor in North and South Carolina, along with Kevan’s 28 years in the real estate industry, SEC is led by two men whose building and real estate experiences provide for unique and insightful perspectives.
During the summer of 2011, SEC’s dear friend Joe Mann passed away and left Mann Builders without a clear path for continuing without him to guide the way. Left with the task of fulfilling Joe’s wishes of preserving the jobs of his loyal employees, Joe’s widow Tena Mann approached David and Kevan with the opportunity to purchase Joe Mann Builders. Tena felt that David and Kevan could provide the leadership, capital and direction for Mann Builders to move forward. David and Kevan are honored and privileged to continue the Mann tradition by providing solid construction knowledge and expertise, while striving to uphold extraordinary customer service for large and small jobs alike.
Leadership, integrity and respect for others are the cornerstones of these men and their company.
